Step Inside QC PRC - A Sensory Experience

Do you, like me, find it fascinating how our senses and memories are linked?  In thinking about writing to you this month about the sharing part of our Mission Statement, I thought back on how I came to want to live my life for Christ. And that takes me back to a very humble country church in Western Pennsylvania.  I spent countless hours a week in that church, and even though it’s been decades since I walked through its doors, I can close my eyes and teleport to the pew where my family sat every Sunday morning (and every Sunday night and every Wednesday night). The white building was as plain inside as it was outside, with red carpet and pine pews.

By contrast, the building I’m blessed to do ministry in now is pretty spectacular.

We often receive positive comments about the beauty and warmth of Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center and how welcoming it feels. Here's a recent example that touched our hearts.

Last week, we received an interesting comment about how the Center smells. Toward the end of an initial appointment, a couple who walked in undecided about their pregnancy went through a pregnancy test and second trimester ultrasound. This led to a conversation about abortion procedures and culminated in a three-way spiritual discussion about the sovereignty of God and how He created each of us, including this baby, in His image.

At this point, the father of the baby remarked, "You know what I thought when I walked in here? I thought this place smells like a church!" Our quick-thinking Medical Client Advocate responded, "We are the church, so how did we do?" He affirmed that it had been a very positive experience. A week later, we believe they’re planning to continue this pregnancy.

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to reflect the love and character of Christ and be the fragrance referred to in 2 Corinthians 2:14-15: "But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads in every place the fragrance that comes from knowing him. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing."

Are you curious what QC PRC smells like? I promise it’s pleasant.  We have a standing invitation for Meet-and-Greet every Tuesday at noon and would love for you to see up close and personal this ministry you pray for and love.

For those of you who attended our third annual Night for Life, you heard that our leadership has embraced a new strategic plan that redefines our Mission and Vision and focuses our attention on these five goals over the next five years.

If we missed you at Night for Life this year, we would love for you to take five minutes to watch the client story we shared that night: https://www.friendsofqcprc.org/25nflvideo

It’s because of your continued support and prayers that QC PRC is able to serve families, save children, and share the Gospel. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Blessings,

Mary
