A Not So Average Week

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them (Hebrews 6:10, NIV).

Good afternoon,

I’m hopeful that when you read my monthly emails, you have a pretty good idea of the ministry that happens inside the walls of Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center. You’ve come to see how we work to serve clients, save children and share the Gospel of Christ.

While on an average day we’re busy talking with clients who are seeking abortion, running pregnancy tests, performing ultrasounds, and having lots of conversations and prayers about the pressures and circumstances of each individual crisis, there are also a lot of unusual happenings that I think might be of interest to you.

Here are a few recent examples:

  • We received an email in which the sender told us: “You are the ones destroying this country and you are too sanctimonious and blinded to even realize it. Shame on you."

  • Then there was an angry voicemail in which the caller said: “You are repugnant, you’re evil wickedness, you’re vile, reprehensible, wickedness”. (I spared you the other more graphic comments.)

  • On the same day we received that voicemail, staff members postponed lunch to serve two abortion determined clients who had walked in. One was a teenager and one was in her mid-twenties. While they learned about the work God does through you in different ways, they had several things in common. Both were tearful. Both were accompanied by the father of the baby. Both were about six weeks into their pregnancy.

  • Another day that same week a client called crying inconsolably, saying she had aborted two weeks ago and “everything you told me I might feel, I am feeling. Can I please come in and talk to you?” Of course, we said, “Yes,” and our staff and volunteers spent time calming her and assuring her of Christ’s forgiveness and healing.

I share with you the pressures our staff face daily to tell you how precious and vital your prayers and financial partnership are for this ministry's work. God knows how much we appreciate all you do, but I’m afraid there’s no way I can put into words for you the depth of our appreciation.

As we’re dealing with all the different situations that come our way every day, from angry emails to women who are scared and heartbroken, please know we feel your prayers and we experience God’s protection, provision and presence.

We look forward to serving the women who call us and walk through our doors, and we pay minimal attention to the “attacks” that come our way. You might be amused to know that one of our receptionists called back the person who left that harsh voicemail and learned that they’re pro-life and were confused about what happens here. She graciously suggested he find another way to channel his pro-life passion. You model an excellent way of living out your pro-life passion when you serve in, pray for, and give to the work God is doing here at QC PRC.

I’d love to invite you to know and learn more, and there’s no better way than for you to attend our Night for Life on April 9th at the Charlotte Convention Center.

Just three weeks from tonight, I will have the opportunity to tell you more about all that’s happening here at QC PRC in person! It’s not too late to RSVP and to bring other like-minded Believers who want to better understand how to serve families, save children and share the Gospel.

Hopeful to see you there!

 Warmly,

Mary
