What is in the womb?

Life Begins
The baby’s gender, ethnicity, hair color, eye color, and countless other traits are all determined at the moment of fertilization (conception).
Heartbeat at 22 days
A heartbeat can be detected just 22 days after fertilization.
Buds of arms & legs appear at 28 days
Spontaneous and reflexive movements can begin after just five weeks after fertilization.
Thumb sucking begins at 9 weeks
A single cell has now grown into a fetus who can swallow, grasp an object, sigh and stretch.
Capable of surviving outside the womb at 20 weeks
With lots of help, babies can survive outside the womb at just 20 weeks from fertilization.
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's wombI praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"
- Psalm 139: 13-14

Abortion ends the life of child
no matter what stage

The Problem
The Battle Has Increased in Our City
In a post-Roe America, the front lines of the fight for life have shifted — and Charlotte is now at the center.
Charlotte has become an abortion destination
That’s why Queen City PRC is called to be a
destination for life
As many surrounding states have enacted near-total abortion bans or placed heavy restrictions, North Carolina has become one of the last remaining states in the Southeast where abortion remains legal up to 12 weeks.
That change has turned Charlotte into an abortion destination — drawing women from across the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee seeking abortion services they can no longer access in their home state..
Abortion Laws by State

The number of live births and abortions in our city now rival one another.
The numbers show from 2025 there were about 20,000 live births in Mecklenburg county. And there were nearly 19,500 abortions.
Live births and abortions in our city now rival one another.
But here’s what that really means.
Because Charlotte is an abortion destination, many of those 19,500 procedures were performed on women traveling from out of state. Most come for one purpose — the procedure — and then return home.
Of those 19,500 abortions, 5,339 were women from Mecklenburg County.
That is our city.
Those are our neighbors.
Those are the women we can reach.
Right now, we are serving approximately one-fifth of them.
And thousands more are walking past hope every year.
The Solution
Becoming Charlotte’s Trusted Resource
for women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy in Mecklenburg County helping them choose life for their baby and abundant life in Christ
Every day, women arrive at our doors in the heart of the city — frightened, uncertain, and convinced that abortion is their only option.
And when she steps inside everything changes
We meet her where she is — with compassion, medical excellence, truth, and practical help.
We:
-
Confirm her pregnancy
-
Provide a nurse consultation and ultrasound
-
Introduce her to the life growing inside her
-
Offer real support — emotional, spiritual, and material
Because when she sees her baby…
When she hears the heartbeat…
When she meets a team that believes in her…
Hope takes root

To reach all 5,339 women in our county who face this decision each year, we must become Charlotte’s most trusted pregnancy resource.
That means:
-
Serving without judgment
-
Loving without condition
-
Providing care so compassionate and professional that even women who ultimately
choose abortion would still tell their sister, their friend, their coworker:
“Before you decide anything — go there"
This is how culture shifts.
This is how trust spreads.
This is how life wins — one woman at a time.
Charlotte may be an abortion destination.
But we are building something stronger:
A city where hope is closer than fear.
Where compassion is louder than pressure.
Where life is not only defended — but supported.
And we are just getting started
